Hiring A Translator
What You Need to Know

In a way, the question is simple. What kind of translation do you want? One that's as good as it possibly can be, or one that's simply "good enough"?

Translation is about more than moving words from one language to another. It's about transfering meaning from one person to another. A good translation maintains not only the intent of a document, but its register and tone as well. Translators must maintain vocabulary levels and consistently be aware of their audience. They must know the subject matter to know the words. But above all, they must know the language and the people who speak it.

(A free booklet from the American Translators' Association explaining how this works is available for download.)

For this reason, finding a good translator can be complicated.  Lots of people are "bilingual," but there's a big difference between speaking a language and knowing it inside out.  That's why we only hire the best--to make sure you get the best.  It's our job to make sure your job is done right.

With a database 600 strong, we have linguists specializing in 60 + different languages, from the commonly requested Spanish, French, Vietnamese, and Polish, to the more uncommonly known Urdu, Pushto, and Tagalog.  This means whatever the combination you need, be it German into English or Maltese into Italian, we can meet your needs with excellence.
